Saturday, May 17, and Sunday, May 18, Tour de Cure - San Antonio.  Saturday’s ride begins in San Antonio and ends at Texas State University in San Marcos.  Sunday’s ride begins at Texas State University and finishes at Akins High School in South Austin. Saturday, May 17, 8:00 am, Leon Springs LEADERLESS RIDE (NW) [H] Maps available on the website. No ride starter or preride briefing. Helmets are required. Routes of 18, 33, and 50 miles. For the longer routes, take the “Scenic Loop” through Grey Forest  to catch some hills or stay on the back roads up Scenic Loop for a relaxing weekend ride. From San Antonio, take I-10 West to exit 551 (Leon Springs/Boerne Stage Road). Turn left at Rudy’s BBQ and park behind Starbuck’s at the corner of I-10 access road and Boerne Stage Road.

Sunday, May 18, 8:00 am, Helotes to Castroville Ride (formerly called the North by Northwest Ride) (NW) [F, H] Routes of 26, 45 and 58 miles. Routes vary from fairly flat to hilly.  Meet at the parking lot across from the John T. Floore Country Store in Old Town Helotes. Take Bandera Road (Hwy 16) to 2.5 miles outside of Loop 1604, then turn left onto Old Bandera Road. Contact: Warren W. 210/492-9173
